About the Team
Uber’s People Experience and Operations team ensures that our global employee population has a fantastic experience at Uber, from onboarding onwards. We’re the center-point between the different People functional areas. Based around the world, we take care of the employee experience and improve our people systems and processes, thinking globally and acting locally to ensure employees across Uber can focus on the work they were hired to do.
Role
We’re looking for People Operations Coordinator in the Tokyo, to support our employee population in the APAC region. An ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about finding ways to best support our growing employee base. People Operations Specialists will be responsible to support our employees and managers with various HR processes and support in their continuous improvement and efficiency. You will act as a bridge between People Operations and various stakeholders, providing expertise in HR systems, documentation, and process optimization. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, independence, and a proactive global mindset to enhance operational efficiency.
About the Role:
Support the complete onboarding and offboarding lifecycles for new employees (e.g. new hire orientation, organization, documentation, system updates etc).
Serve as a liaison between People Operations and key partners such as HR Shared Services (HRSS), Centers of Excellence (COEs), People Partners, Payroll, Benefits, IT, and Legal.
Own and drive end-to-end processes, ensuring efficiency and compliance while proactively identifying areas for improvement.
Maintain and update data within our HR System, ensuring high accuracy.
Provide high-quality support to employees by responding to questions in our ticketing tool, and escalating issues as necessary.
Manage verification of employment letters, sick leave checks, and other compliances with local legislation.
Support the integrity of our data by running regular audits and reporting.
Cooperate with vendors when needed for the local processes.
Manage necessary interactions and coordination with employees, managers, HR stakeholder teams, and external stakeholders regularly for issues and processes around employment.
Assist with ad-hoc projects within the People Operations Team and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Provide subject matter expertise in a few specialized HR area, acting as a go-to resource for the team.
New Hire Orientation (NHO) support
The Experience You’ll Bring:
2+ years professional experience, working in corporate environments
Experience supporting employee onboarding
Experience working with multiple HR systems (e.g. LMS, HCMs, Workday, Oracle etc.)
Operational excellence
Project management
Bilingual both English and Japanese fluency
Preferred Qualifications:
Background w/ employee experience, culture and community
Experience working with data and measurement, analysis and best practices
Comms, content & program design is an added advantage
Program management experience preferred
Ability to prioritize effectively in fast-paced, autonomous environment
Stakeholder management and relationship-building
Creating processes and playbooks as needed
