Senior Strategy & Operations Manager (Process Excellence)

At Uber, we are reimagining the way the world moves for the better. The Merchant Experience Team is the engine room of Uber Eats Japan, tasked with building a future-ready operational engine that drives scalable business performance.

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Strategy & Operations Manager to lead our Process Excellence vertical. In this role, you are an operational architect who views process optimization and vendor performance as critical levers for merchant success. You will design the operational infrastructure, workflows, and stakeholder ecosystems that power the Uber Eats in Japan.

What You’ll Do

• Process Excellence & Workflow Architecture: Design, scale, and optimize the foundational systems and automated workflows that govern our operations. You will identify operational bottlenecks, eliminate friction in the merchant journey, and build scalable, repeatable processes from scratch.

• Strategic Vendor Excellence: Build and oversee a performance-driven vendor governance framework. You will manage relationship strategies for critical third-party partners, establishing quality standards, KPIs, and feedback loops to ensure they meet Uber’s high standards.
• Cross-Functional "Dot Connector": Act as the central hub aligning internal stakeholders—including Sales, Finance, Operations, and regional partners like the APAC Procurement team—to ensure seamless end-to-end execution.
• Data-Driven Governance: Define the data-driven logic and reporting frameworks that provide real-time visibility into process health and vendor performance. You will turn complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.

The Experience You’ll Bring

• Seasoned Operational Leader: Proven track record of leading high-stakes operations, process optimization, or vendor management within fast-moving environments (e.g., high-growth tech, management consulting, or complex corporate operations).

• Process Excellence Mindset: You excel at looking across a complex organization, identifying gaps, and building necessary bridges. You love creating workflows where none exist and evolving them as the business scales. 
• Stakeholder & Vendor Mastery: Exceptional ability to manage external vendors and navigate internal matrixed teams. You know how to drive accountability and architect partnerships based on clear quality standards.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Analytical fluency to interpret complex datasets and turn them into actionable business strategies. You use data-backed insights to drive critical business actions.
• Bilingual Communication: Professional fluency in both Japanese and English is required. You must be able to influence and negotiate with internal global/regional stakeholders and external Japanese partners effectively.
