About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional operator to help launch and scale autonomous vehicles on Uber's platform across the US.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of mobility, working at the intersection of emerging technology, marketplace dynamics, and real-world operations.
You will own complex initiatives spanning launch execution, strategic partnerships, and marketplace performance, working closely with leading AV developers and cross-functional teams across Uber to bring new deployments to market and accelerate growth.
We are looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Someone who can structure ambiguous problems, develop data-driven recommendations, and influence senior stakeholders, while being equally willing to roll up their sleeves, dive into operational details, and do what it takes to deliver results.
This is a fast-moving, highly cross-functional role with significant ownership and the opportunity to help define how autonomous vehicles scales.
What You'll Do
- Lead autonomous vehicle launches: Own the end-to-end planning and execution of AV deployments, managing critical milestones, resolving blockers, and ensuring successful market launches
- Drive strategic partnerships: Build trusted relationships with leading AV developers, serving as a key operational and strategic counterpart to align priorities, solve complex challenges, and unlock mutual growth
- Shape marketplace performance and growth: Drive post-launch optimization by identifying opportunities to improve utilization, operational efficiency, rider experience, and commercial outcomes
- Drive data-driven problem solving: Independently structure ambiguous business problems, develop analytical frameworks, and translate data into actionable insights and solutions
- Lead cross-functional initiatives: Partner with Product, Engineering, Fleet Operations, Safety, Legal, Policy, Marketing, Comms and Finance to align priorities and execute complex initiatives across organizations
- Influence strategic decisions: Evaluate complex business tradeoffs, develop clear recommendations, and influence senior leadership decisions that shape the direction of Uber's autonomous vehicle business
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience in strategy, operations, consulting, strategic partnerships, or a related field
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in SQL, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop quantitative analyses, and translate insights into business decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and tight timelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex topics with clarity
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and drive initiatives from strategy through execution
- Experience in autonomous vehicles, ride-hailing, marketplaces, or other technology-driven industries
- Experience managing external partnerships and navigating complex, cross-company relationships
- Track record of launching and scaling new products, services, markets, or commercial operations
- Strong business judgment and experience evaluating operational, financial, and customer experience tradeoffs
- Experience developing scalable solutions to complex problems in fast-growing or rapidly evolving organizations
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution in an environment where processes and playbooks are still being built
