About the Role
Uber for Business is looking for a Partner Integration Engineer (PIE) to help grow and support our partner ecosystem across APAC.
As a Partner Integration Engineer, you will own the technical relationship with strategic Enterprise and Mid-Market partners integrating with Uber's APIs and platform capabilities. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the partner lifecycle, from technical discovery and solution design through implementation, launch, troubleshooting, and ongoing optimization.
This role will have a particular focus on partners and opportunities across Taiwan, Japan, and broader APAC, while collaborating with Uber teams and partners globally. Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required. Japanese language proficiency is preferred but not required.
This is a highly technical, partner-facing role that combines integration engineering, solution architecture, technical project leadership, and relationship management. You will independently own complex integrations, troubleshoot technical issues, influence product improvements, and help partners build scalable solutions on Uber's platform.
Uber for Business platform capabilities include Guest Rides, Uber Health, Vouchers, Business Receipts, SFTP, and other API and integration products.
About the Team
Partner Integration Engineering is part of Uber for Business and helps technology partners build and scale integrations across Uber's business platform.
Our team works at the intersection of partners, Product, and Engineering. We help partners design and launch integrations, troubleshoot complex technical challenges, and identify opportunities to improve Uber's APIs and developer experience.
The APAC PIE will bring regional technical expertise and partner context into a global organization, helping Uber for Business expand its partner ecosystem across Taiwan, Japan, and broader APAC while ensuring regional partners receive the same high level of technical support and integration expertise as our partners globally.
What You'll Do
- Own the technical relationship with strategic Uber for Business partners across Taiwan, Japan, and broader APAC, serving as the primary technical point of contact from engineering teams through senior technical leadership.
- Lead technical discovery and solution design, translating partner business requirements into scalable integration architectures using Uber APIs and platform capabilities.
- Guide partners through the full integration lifecycle, including architecture, authentication, development, testing, certification, launch, and post-launch optimization.
- Independently manage complex integration engagements across countries and time zones, including technical requirements, timelines, dependencies, risks, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Work hands-on with partner engineering teams to troubleshoot API requests, authentication issues, webhooks, data flows, error responses, and other integration challenges.
- Diagnose production integration issues, identify partner-side versus platform-side failures, and coordinate with Engineering and Product teams to drive timely resolution.
- Partner with regional and global Business Development and Sales teams during technical discovery, solutioning, and onboarding of new partners and use cases.
- Act as a bridge between partners in Taiwan, Japan, and broader APAC and Uber's global Product and Engineering organizations, ensuring regional technical requirements and partner feedback are clearly represented.
- Build scalable onboarding and support approaches that enable both high-touch strategic partnerships and 1:Many partner engagements.
- Identify integration patterns and recurring partner challenges and develop documentation, tooling, best practices, and processes that improve the partner developer experience.
- Collect structured product feedback from partners and influence Product and Engineering roadmaps by identifying common technical gaps and regional opportunities.
- Support the rollout and adoption of new Uber for Business APIs, products, and platform capabilities across APAC.
- Lead technical relationships with regional ecosystem partners including technology providers, system integrators, consulting partners, and other third parties.
- Represent the needs of external developers and partners internally while balancing platform scalability, security, reliability, and business objectives.
Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams, including stakeholders in North America, Europe, and other APAC markets.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Partner Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Technical Account Management, software engineering, or a similar technical customer-facing role.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technology integrations with external partners or enterprise customers.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of REST APIs and modern integration patterns, including HTTP, JSON, OAuth or other authentication mechanisms, webhooks, and API error handling.
- Experience troubleshooting API integrations and working with technical artifacts such as API requests and responses, logs, developer documentation, and testing tools.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical architectures and clearly communicate technical tradeoffs to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated project and program management skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple complex integrations and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
- Experience building trusted relationships with engineering, product, and senior technical stakeholders.
- Professional fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, with the ability to conduct technical discussions and partner engagements in both languages.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence globally distributed cross-functional teams without direct authority and drive complex issues to resolution.
- Comfortable operating independently in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
- Ability to collaborate across APAC, US, and European time zones as needed.
- Willingness to travel within APAC and internationally as needed for partner and internal engagements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Japanese language proficiency.
- Experience working with technology partners or enterprise customers in Taiwan, Japan, or other APAC markets.
- Experience with developer platforms, B2B SaaS, mobility, travel, expense management, healthcare, payments, or other API-driven ecosystems.
- Experience with enterprise integration technologies such as SFTP, middleware, identity systems, or data exchange platforms.
- Experience supporting production integrations and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Experience creating technical documentation, integration guides, developer tooling, or scalable partner enablement programs.
- Experience working effectively across regional and global organizations.
