As a Business Development Representative, you will play a critical role in driving growth by identifying prospective customers, uncovering business challenges, and generating qualified opportunities for our sales organization.

This role goes beyond high-volume outreach. You will research strategic accounts, engage senior decision-makers, and partner with Account Executives, Sales Managers, and Marketing to build pipeline across a wide range of industries. You will also use modern sales technology and AI tools to improve the quality, personalization, and efficiency of your work.

This opportunity is designed for an ambitious, intellectually curious professional who wants to build a strong foundation in enterprise sales and develop toward becoming an Account Executive or sales leader.

This is a hybrid role, with in-person collaboration in our NYC and/or Chicago offices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Employees are welcome to work from the office on additional days.

What You’ll Do

Generate qualified new business opportunities through strategic outbound prospecting.
Research and engage organizations with more than 1,000 employees through cold calls, personalized emails, LinkedIn, social selling, and other creative channels.
Identify high-potential accounts, map key stakeholders and buying personas, and develop tailored engagement strategies.
Qualify prospects through consultative conversations that uncover business needs, priorities, authority, timing, and potential value.
Lead high-level conversations with business leaders and clearly communicate the value of Uber for Business.
Deliver a consistent volume of Sales Qualified Leads that convert into pipeline and revenue opportunities.
Partner with Account Executives to develop account plans, refine messaging, and execute targeted sales strategies.
Use AI and sales technology to accelerate research, personalize outreach, analyze performance, and improve workflows.
Track key performance indicators and maintain accurate account, contact, and activity data in Salesforce and other sales platforms.
Share market and prospect insights with Sales and Marketing to improve targeting, messaging, processes, and the overall prospect experience.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with relevant internship, academic, entrepreneurial, athletic, or project-based experience, or at least 12 months of professional sales experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
Strong listening, organizational, and time-management skills.
Comfort working with technology, data, performance metrics, and evolving sales processes.
Self-starter mentality, resilience, coachability, and a strong sense of ownership and urgency.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in business development, sales development, outbound prospecting, or another results-oriented customer-facing role.
Demonstrated success with cold calling, personalized email campaigns, LinkedIn, or other outbound channels.
Experience engaging senior leaders or navigating complex organizations and buying committees.
Familiarity with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, Apollo, and other sales / AI tools.
Experience in B2B technology, SaaS, enterprise sales, or a competitive environment, with long-term interest in becoming an Account Executive or sales leader.

For New York City, NY-based roles: The total annualized on-target earnings (OTE) for this position is USD $81,120 - USD $85,429. The OTE includes a base hourly rate of USD $27.30 per hour - USD $28.75 per hour and an annualized cash variable incentive target range of USD $24,336 - USD $25,629.

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The total annualized on-target earnings (OTE) for this position is USD $72,800 - USD $76,663. The OTE includes a base hourly rate of USD $24.50 per hour - USD $25.80 per hour and an annualized cash variable incentive target range of USD $21,840 - USD $22,999.

The cash variable incentive target is based on individual sales performance and its payment is based on the terms of the Sales Incentive Plan.
