About the role and team

Community Operations at Uber is where real people solve real problems in real time. As a Greenlight Expert, you are the face of Uber for the drivers and earners who keep our world moving. Operating out of our in-person Greenlight hubs, you’ll help new partners get on the road for the first time and support existing ones in finding greater success on the platform. This isn't a typical retail or desk job; it’s a high-energy, front-facing role where you bridge the gap between our digital platform and the physical world.

The pace is intense, and the stakes are high—you’ll often be the first person a driver speaks to when they have a problem or a breakthrough. You’ll need to stay calm under pressure, balance empathy with action, and make fast decisions that help our partners move forward with confidence. If you’re sharp, steady, and motivated by providing meaningful service at a local scale, this is where you’ll grow.

What you’ll do

• Support riders, drivers, couriers, and merchants during critical moments—helping turn uncertainty into clarity through empathy, speed, and sound judgment.
• Facilitate driver sign-ups by communicating the real-world value of the Uber platform, navigating them through the onboarding process with both urgency and care.
• Make fast, thoughtful decisions in real-time to resolve front-facing customer issues, ensuring every person walks out with a clear path forward.
• Communicate with care and professionalism, even in emotionally charged situations, ensuring drivers feel heard and supported in every interaction.
• Identify patterns and escalate technical or procedural blockers to management, contributing to how we improve the in-person support experience over time.
• Collaborate with teammates to execute local events and promotions, acting as a brand ambassador to build engagement within your city’s earner community.
• Learn and grow in an environment that challenges you to stay sharp, troubleshoot technical issues on the fly, and show up with intention every day.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in a retail, hospitality, or customer service environment where you handled high-volume, face-to-face interactions.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to learn new technical tools quickly.
• Proven communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to explain complex processes clearly.
• Must be able to work from the designated Greenlight location with a commitment to punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to stay calm and empathetic in emotionally charged or high-pressure, face-to-face situations.
• Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to navigate difficult conversations with clarity and care.
• Experience in public speaking or presenting to diverse groups of people.
• A "go-get-it" attitude and a commitment to delivering excellence as the face of Uber in your local community.
