Operations & Logistics Manager, Merchant Growth

About the Role

The Growth Operations team is responsible for growing our consumer base, and increasing their engagement through our own channels and through our merchants. We serve millions of consumers every day and we work with stakeholders across the business to deliver the best possible experience and outcomes for our consumers.

We are looking for a sharp, highly motivated candidate to join our Japan Growth Operations team.

The growth ops team is passionate about developing and executing strategies to ensure Uber Eats hits its growth goals and responsible for incubating new initiatives and experimenting with the goal of continuing to improve the value of every customer to Uber.

Your Impact in Role

Key responsibilities include:

1. Leads the SMB ads strategy, contributing in Japan to over 40% of total Ads revenue - including adoption targets, go-to-market approach, and campaign optimisation
2. Owns SMB ANR and cross-sell targets, with full accountability for performance tracking, gap diagnosis, and corrective action
3. Drives ANR growth through the full SMB merchant lifecycle — Acquisition, Early Lifecycle (ELC), Upsell, and Cross-Sell — translating campaign data into continuous optimisation
4. Builds and aligns the commercial playbook (including merchant-facing pitch and internal sales enablement materials) across Sales and BPO, to scale SMB ads and offer adoption
5. Support with Execution and Campaign analysis on our ISP/Offer program
6. Supports execution and performance analysis for the In-Store Pricing (ISP) and Offer Scaled programms, producing regular readouts that connect campaign activity to SMB GB share
7. Owns the merchant adoption targets for Offer Scaled
8. Partners with Account Managers and Merchant CommOps to operate scaled offer campaigns efficiently, from merchant onboarding through to performance monitoring and renewal

The Experience You'll Bring

Basic Qualifications

1. 3 to 4+ years of demonstrated work experience in technology startup, consulting, strategy, business development, growth, or a variety of other specialty roles
2. Business acumen combined with strong understanding of the Japanese consumer market
3. Strong problem solving skills rooted in data-driven insights that guide sound decision making
4. Good communication skills that will allow you to have strategic discussions with our partners and build a foundation of trust and growth
5. Strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities. Scaling new initiatives will occur quickly and require working across teams in Japan
6. English & Japanese fluency
7. A growth mindset 

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with large scale operations, driving change amongst a large number of businesses simultaneously quickly and effectively
2. Sales experience in the restaurant industry
3. Proficiency with SQL, or (related) programming languages
