About the Role
We are looking for an individual who has strong operational and analytical skills, as well as a strategic business sense. In this role, you will manage our Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panamá and Puerto Rico operations, lead financial forecasting and allocation proceeses and be a teammate in coming up with initiatives to drive growth and operational efficiencies.
Within the Marketplace team, our goal is to deliver the most competitive, reliable, and efficient service for riders and drivers. In pursuit of this, we use data analytics and operational levers, such as pricing, products, processes, and promotions, to drive sustainable, profitable growth. As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable levers to foster demand and supply growth and engagement across the region.
You’ll need to deep dive into the details at one end and see the broader picture at the other end to drive sound business decisions backed by quantitative analyses, rapid experimentation, and qualitative insights in an ever-changing and evolving marketplace landscape. This role requires proficiency in data analytics, an eye for business, an understanding of customers’ needs, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Ownership: Help develop, lead, and implement strategy to achieve business priorities in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico & Panamá
Financial planning: Monitor, understand, and interpret key operational and financial metrics to define financial targets, risks, strategy and action plans. Develop and apply understanding of the levers that move our business
Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of risks and opportunities, propose multiple, practical solutions, and weigh tradeoffs to recommend best approach
Process Optimization: Implement, optimize, and scale core analyses and processes across Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panamá and beyond, regularly reviewing performance
Product Improvement: Proactively search for new features or improvements that could improve the experience on and efficiency of our marketplace, measure their impact and collaborate with Product teams around the world to implement launches in the markets
Stakeholder Management: Maintain productive working relationships with immediate team and cross-functional partners across operations, marketing, customer support, product, policy, and legal to scope, test and implement initiatives
Basic Qualifications
4 years of professional experience in a related field such as consulting, FP&A, investment banking, strategy, operations, or analytics
Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel/Google Sheets
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
Experience solving complex problems and proposing unique solutions
Strong experience in building and executing complex processes
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present data and insights to a sophisticated audience
Experience with quantitative data analysis to provide deep, measurable insights
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships across teams and partners
Strong business judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions quickly
Preferred Qualifications
Data-Driven Mentality: Make strategic decisions based on data analysis and interpretation. Experience getting in the weeds of data, balanced with the ability to see the big picture
Executional Excellence: Ability to work and accomplish multiple tasks in parallel, delivering results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, while maintaining high-quality work standards
Python or R are a plus but not required
