About the Role
The Strategic Initiatives team is responsible for identifying, designing, and executing high-impact, 0-to-1 initiatives that unlock growth and operational excellence for Uber. Operating as an incubation and strategic growth engine, the team designs scalable growth avenues across Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador.
The role will focus on expanding market penetration and supply scalability across Andean by structuring high-leverage fleet and taxi strategies and partnerships, capturing high-density rider mobility hubs, and accelerating Uber for Business (U4B) growth.
What the Candidate Will Do
Taxi Growth
Build and scale alliances with taxi companies, cooperatives, and unions across markets to increase Uber Taxi adoption
Create local levers and bring global Best practices to optimize taxi operation
Fleet & Vehicle Access Strategy
Own and drive the commercial vehicle supply strategy across Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador, expanding active vehicle pools through fleet operators, car rental firms, and financing providers.
Structure commercial agreements that deliver long-term value to drivers, fleet owners, brand partners, and Uber.
Uber for Business (U4B) & Demand Growth
Identify, negotiate, and execute high-impact commercial partnerships with high-density rider mobility hubs
Collaborate with U4B, Regional Sales, Operations, and Product teams to scale business
Cross-Functional Leadership & Operational Execution
Work closely with Operations, Legal, Finance, Policy, Product, and Regional teams to design and execute initiatives.
Act as a single-threaded owner for key projects, driving alignment and execution across stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
8+ years of relevant experience in strategy, operations, partnerships, consulting, corporate development, or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into clear insights and decisions.
Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to execution.
Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leaders and external partners without direct authority.
Experience building and managing commercial partnerships and negotiating win-win agreements.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to clearly articulate strategy and execution plans.
High ownership mindset, comfortable operating in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in Latam or with markets across the Andean region, particularly Colombia, Peru, or Ecuador.
Experience with B2B business models, commercial contract negotiations, enterprise partnerships, or transit/concession governance.
Experience in mobility, automotive, fintech, or marketplace businesses.
